How long should you keep an appliance bill

A simple rule for keeping purchase proof available through the full warranty and service lifecycle.

Keep the bill for the full warranty period at a minimum, and longer if the appliance is expensive, serviced regularly, or likely to be resold later.

The better question is not how long the paper survives, but how long you can retrieve the proof in a clear and usable form.

A saved digital record with the product name, seller, purchase date, and invoice image reduces the risk of losing coverage because the document itself became unreadable.
